Lets get real here, we all love dogs. I mean who doesn’t want a furry companion around all the time? We treat them as part of our family and in turn, they become our best friends. I mean, its a win-win for everyone.
Bottom line is: dogs are a huge part of my life. When I see or spend time with a dog, I always leave in a much better mood than I was before. When I found out PuppySpot was highlighting the health benefits of owning a dog for National Dog Week, I was ecstatic. This was my thing. I love dogs!
Then I started to realize how much dogs really affect my life: My parents have two dogs that are always a joy to spend time around; my boyfriend and I always go to adoption events to see all of the cute dogs; every time I see someone walking their dog, I get a big smile on my face.
Along with the little joys of raising a puppy, there are also tons of health benefits of dogs. They can help with anxiety and depression as well as aid in reducing stress. They can even be trained to recognize when their owner is suffering from a seizure or help with speech and occupational therapy. There are so many things dogs can do that really benefit us.
